Band history

The band was formed in 1981 by musicians with some 20 years of experience from different well known Swedish traditional jazz bands. It rapidly developed to become one of the most established jazz bands in Sweden.

Jazzin’ Jacks made at great success at the festival Jazzdagen Eindhoven in Holland 1984 and the response was heard over the Atlantic. So in 1986 the band was invited to the huge Sacramento Jazz Jubilee in California. Since then Jazzin’ Jacks has played many times over there, including places like New Orleans, Sun Valley, Sacramento, Los Angeles and other places in California. In May 2004 the band was invited to the Sacramento Jazz Jubilee for the 10th time.

There has been only few changes in the band över the years. Trumpeter Jack Anderson and clarinet player Lasse Karlsson were in the original band back in 1981. Hans Ingelstam, trombone, joined the band in 1983. Anders Lagerlöf came to the band in 1998, since 2002 Ceasar (Andersson) is the piano player.and bassist Karl Kronqvist joined the band in 2004.

Jazzin’ Jacks is frequently playing in Sweden, Denmark and Germany and has participated at most of the important festivals around. The band has also toured in England, Holland and Malaysia.

The music is swingin and dynamic within the traditional jazz style. Especially Louis Armstrongs All Stars from the 40ties and the 50ties have contributed to the inspiration of the band.
